Gearbox design platform · Beta
Every calculation a gearbox design needs, in one model
Gear rating, shaft deflection and fatigue, bearing life, interference fits, keys and splines, housing bolts, power flow and efficiency, heat, cooling and oil temperature, the lubrication circuit down to orifices, nozzles and piping, and noise indicators are calculated in one model. Place the parts on a true-scale drawing and they share their loads as they are calculated. Operating conditions of up to 100 load cases is carried through to the verdict. It runs in your browser, with nothing to install.
How one gearbox is calculated
The whole gearbox in one model
Gears, shafts, bearings, connections, bolts and casing share their loads inside one model. Move a shaft and its deflection changes; that deflection feeds the tooth load distribution and the bearing reactions.
Edit the drawing and the calculation follows
The true-scale drawing is the calculation model. The fillets, relief grooves and keyways you draw become the notches in the shaft fatigue check. There is no second set of inputs to keep in step.
Lubrication and heat, carried on to CFD
The lubrication circuit, including orifices, nozzles and piping, is solved in 1-D, and pipe diameters are proposed automatically. Losses, efficiency, heat, cooling and oil temperature come from the same model. The install helper sets up OpenFOAM on your own PC automatically, runs the CFD case built from the circuit model there and feeds the result back into the circuit losses. You can also download the case and run it yourself.
What's inside
During the beta, signing up unlocks everything.
Integrated design
The true-scale drawing is the calculation model — move a shaft and rating (ISO 6336), bearing life (ISO 281), shaft deflection and the contact pattern (LTCA) are recalculated. Check it in 3D, in section and under deflection; review the details in the specialist tools that open alongside. Saved as a project, edits are kept automatically.
Enter power, speed and target ratio, and a draft — gear train sizing, bearings, layout — appears on the canvas. The draft is calculated by the same procedure and comes out in the same report.
Gears
Dimensions, DIN 3967 backlash and inspection dimensions (over pins, span), plus hob / form-wheel generation simulation for the real tooth form down to root and chamfer.
Concentricity, assembly, adjacency and tip clearance are checked and the profile shift is inverted. The mesh is shown as an animation.
Surface SH and root SF by the full Method B — load factors, ISO 6336-5 allowable stresses and S-N life interpolation.
Epitrochoid profile and pin contact stress, through to crank bearing life (ISO 281 · ISO 16281).
Blank cone data and tooth dimensions in the KIMoS and Gleason coefficient conventions at once, with tooth thickness, backlash, taper and tool feasibility.
Shafts & connections
Preload, stress, slip, fatigue and tightening torque by the full R0-R13 procedure.
Static and fatigue safety with shoulder, keyway and snap-ring notches — the complete factor procedure.
Shrink-fit pressure, transmissible torque, assembly temperature and parallel-key bearing stress on one screen. The key carries the torque friction cannot.
Geometry, tolerances, inspection dimensions and shear / wear / burst torque capacity. Standard series and free geometry on the same screen.
Select from catalog data across seven manufacturers or enter your own — rated life (aISO), static safety S0 and limiting speed.
System & operation
Drainability of housing drain holes, judged in millimetres of head.
Required flow from the heat at each feed point, then a 1-D network solve for the actual distribution.
Heat balance of losses and dissipation — thermal power rating and predicted equilibrium oil temperature.
Shaft critical speeds against mesh and bearing excitation on a Campbell diagram, for resonance screening and frequency diagnosis.
Permissible residual unbalance per quality grade and correction-plane allocation, with influence-coefficient field balancing.
Standards applied
Gear rating follows ISO 6336 Method B end to end, shafts every DIN 743 factor, bolts VDI 2230 R0-R13.
Verification record
Every item records what was compared, against what, and how. Only a check that reproduces counts as verification.
Against the source text
Formulas are compared term by term against the standard's clauses. Example: ISO 6336-1 tooth stiffness c′ — all nine Table 13 coefficients match to every digit.
Against closed-form solutions
Where an analytical solution exists, the numerical result is compared directly. Example: Timoshenko beam mid-span deflection — 0.000 % deviation.
Against invariants
Relations that must hold regardless of how the calculation is done — units, limits, monotonicity — are confirmed automatically.
Currently in beta
During the beta, everything is free after sign-up. Verify your e-mail and start.
The interface and the printed reports are in English, with Korean one click away in the top bar. The calculations follow international standards in either language. Features and screens keep changing — report anything that looks wrong and it is fixed first.
Paid plans will be announced in advance, and nothing you made during the beta will be deleted because of that change. The project kept on the server is a working copy, retained for 30 days after your last edit. Download anything you want to keep to your own computer.
Calculations on this platform assist design review; final engineering judgement remains the designer's responsibility.
